Problems and the long-term sustainability of public finance in Japan: Will Japan face sovereign default?

The aim of this diploma thesis is to evaluate the current situation of public finance in Japan and its long-term fiscal sustainability. The partial objective is to define the fiscal and debt sustainability of the Japan's economy and to evaluate the objectives of government reforms undertook in this area. Further, the thesis examines the link between the fiscal situation and the other problems that Japan is facing, particularly Japan's ageing population, weak domestic consumption and slow economic growth. The diploma thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter recalls the basic knowledge of the theory of public finance and fiscal policy. The other two chapters are empirical. It is analysed economic development of Japan after the entry into the new millennium and the fiscal reforms approved by Prime Minister Koizumi and current Prime Minister Abe. At the end of the thesis the fiscal situation and long-term sustainability is evaluated.
The Comparison of the Develompent of Government Debt in the Czech Republic and the EU

This thesis is focused on issues of indebtedness of the Czech Republic and surrounding EU area countries. The theoretical part explains this topic generally, reasons and kinds of indebtedness, division indebted countries, the measuring of indebtedness and possible ways to reduce or eliminate incurred debt. The practical part is focused on recording and comparing specific parameters of debts of the ČR and EU region for the specific period of time and it is also focused on identifying mutual and different attributes of economic development of the states. The end summarizes generated information and gives a solution to the debt problems of local area countries at the present time.
Economic and socio-political development of Argentina after 1976 and perspectives of the future development

This master's thesis describes economic and socio-political development of Argentina from 1976 up until the current situation. The last chapter introduces the perspectives of the future development as well. During this period, Argentina experienced a lot of changes when the country switched from policy of ISI to neoliberalism which was the main policy of Argentina from 1976 until the default in 2001, with the exception of Alfonsín's presidency. The thesis deals with the main causes of this default. The next part of the work examines what led the country to the economic recovery after 2002 and explains the changes that have occured during the period of Kirchnerism.
STATE BANKRUPCY AS A ONE OF POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS OF DEBT CRISIS

Objective of my bachelor thesis is an analysis of causes and consequences of state bankrupcies in Argentina and in Island and also answering the question if the bankrupcy is a good solution of debt crisis in some European states. This topic is actual in view of the development of debt crisis in some states as Greece, Spain, Portugal etc. Theoretical part focuses on causes of bankrupcy (indebtedness, regime change, state disintegration...), financial, ekonomical and debt crisis will be explained. State bankrupcy will be characterised from theoretic view, what is the cause of its origin and how can we solve this situation. Practical part will analyse the development, causes and consequences of state bancrupcies in Argentina and Island too. Then current situation in some European states (some who are faced with bankrupcy and are under financial rehabilitation by other states) will be analysed. In this part there is also a consideration if the Czech Republic is threatened by similar situation. Conclusion should tell us if state bankrupcy is a better solution for some states (more than subsidizing their state budgets) or not.

Russia has passed through many essential changes during last century. This bachelor work is targeted at main transformations of the statehood. I start from Soviet Union and finish with Putin`s presidency. I am trying to answer the question: "what else is necessary to do in Russian economy and policy to achieve stability and prosperity?"
